The nation pays heartfelt tribute to the invaluable contributions of Kilo Flight and other members of the Air Force during the Great Liberation War. In recognition of their sacrifices and dedication, a total of thirty-nine individuals, including Kilo Flight members, were honored at a ceremony held at BAF Shaheen Hall in Tejgaon, Dhaka, on the occasion of Armed Forces Day 2024.
During the event, the Chief of Air Staff exchanged greetings, presented gifts, and delivered a speech to the freedom fighters, their heirs, and Kilo Flight members or their descendants. In his remarks, he expressed profound respect for the martyrs and valiant freedom fighters who laid down their lives for the Liberation War. Reflecting on the Air Force's humble beginnings with just three aircraft during the war, he highlighted its transformation into a modern and robust force equipped with state-of-the-art fighter jets, transport aircraft, helicopters, advanced radars, missiles, and overhauling technologies. He also emphasized the successful implementation of numerous projects aimed at enhancing operational and administrative capabilities.
The Air Chief acknowledged the inspiring courage and sacrifices of the freedom fighters and Kilo Flight members, which continue to ignite a deep sense of patriotism among the current Air Force personnel. The ceremony was attended by Principal Staff Officers, senior Air Force officers, and airmen from various bases, adding to the solemnity of the occasion.
